Domain-name dilemma worsens

This article discusses the problems faced by companies in selecting an online identity as of November, 1999. Because of the number of web sites available in the Internet, building an identity for a company poses a multitude of problems. Take for example, the wedding web site Della & James. After 5 months of operations, the company dropped James and stuck with Della.com. Another company, Onsale, adopted the name Egghead.com. A name change sometimes opens new markets for the company, as Della.com, which focused on weddings, expanded its operations to genera gift giving.
