ABSTRACT
The article discusses the focus of all diets, including vegetarian diets. Complex carbohydrates are identified to be the central component of all diets. A complex carbohydrate has long breakdown process that keeps blood sugar stable, thereby providing sustained energy. A balanced diet should also include mono and polyunsaturated fats and protein. Items from food categories such as protein, calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and vitamin D are recommended.
