ABSTRACT
The article presents information on different programs of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Fisheries and Habitat Conservation Program works to recover animals and plants listed under the Endangered Species Act and to restore populations of native species to avoid the need for future listings. Various programs to conserve and protect endangered species are implemented by the Division of Habitat and Resource Conservation. Also, the Division of Environmental Quality protects fish, wildlife and their habitats from the harmful effects of pollution.
