ABSTRACT
The article focuses the business models implemented by several software vendors to measure the real value of channel partners in the U.S. According to the author, business models are evolving toward value added resellers that sell more services rather than thin-margin products. Companies including Microsoft Corp. and International Business Machines Corp. are adopting better ways to measure the sales and the value that lower-transactions partners such as independent software vendor. Meanwhile, the Oracle claims to have a program that rewards business influencers.
