ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's experience of American shad fishing on the Hudson River at Green Island, New York. He learned that one of the keys to fishing for American shad is to locate and fish areas where the river currents and depths not only encourage shad to congregate, but enable anglers to reach the fish. He states that fishing clearer water seems to increase an angler's success in catching shad. He prefers to use a medium or medium-light spinning rod when shad fishing.
