ABSTRACT
The article reports on the announcement of an opening ceremony for the Xi'an China Global Development and Technology Support Center by Applied Materials on March 22, 2007. The facility features laboratory, tool demonstration and assembly space in cleanrooms. According to president and chief executive officer (CEO) Mike Splinter, the center is a major expansion of capabilities and positions them strategically to benefit from growth in China. Intel Corp. is also building a facility in China.
