Marathoners (and You): Staying in Energy Balance

The article looks at energy balance, which is eating just enough calories to maintain your body weight with your present activity level. Although the amount of calories will differ according to activity level, the composition of what a marathon runner should eat throughout training is similar to what an active adult should be eating. According to the article, the base of the diet should always be carbohydrates. The article discusses staying hydrated and what to eat before and after exercise.
