ABSTRACT
The author relates her ten-year-old daughter, Annie, who writes a letter to a U.S. serviceman in Iraq. Although she instantly liked Sergeant Scott Montgomery who had been thoughtful enough to write back to Annie, she was also worried that her daughter would be exposed to the ugly realities of war. After some time, the author also began to add Annie's soldier to her own prayers and learned that there are even bigger plans than her own, and how fast children grow up.
