ABSTRACT
The article deals with issues surrounding stem cell research in the U.S. The interest in stem cells increased after the presidential veto in early 2007 banning federal funds for embryonic stem cell research. The issue of contention for some is the harvesting of stem cells from embryos. A stem cell is described as an unspecialized cell from which specialized cells emanate.
