The article reports on an increase in the operating profit of Netherlands-based chemical storage operator Vopak in 2006. High demand for storage boosted the company's operating profit by 27 percent in 2006. The storage operator said that it expects operating profits to be at least 10 percent higher in 2007, barring unforeseen circumstances. Demand for chemical storage in Europe and North America rose because of more bulk imports from the Middle East and other regions.
