Despite delays, petrochemical development in the Middle East and North Africa has reached fever pitch and is poised to continue for as long as the region has access to cost-competitive feedstock. Petrochemical projects have come under intense pressure to finish on deadline. Many have failed to hit those targets. According to data from ICIS insight Asia, crackers are facing delays in construction in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
