The article reports on the plan of European Melamine sellers to increase contract prices by second quarter of 2007 as a result of Agrolinz Melamine International's (AMI) closure of its Italian plant. Agrolinz is just among companies that recently shut down its plants due to low margins. One large consumer said though that it does not expect global supply to be affected by the closure of AMI'S Italian unit as new projects in China will make up for the loss of the plant.
