ABSTRACT
The article discusses the classic API 5500 Dual Equalizer designed by Automated Processes Inc. founder Saul Walker. The construction of the 5500, which includes two 4-band AIM 55OB equalizers, two hand-built 2520 operational amplifiers and a steel-and-aluminum case is explained. The performance of the equalizer achieving the classic API sound, fulfilling the highest expectations and its price are also mentioned.
