The article discusses the use of biometric technology on government and financial works. According to the author, Nina Banister, spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Financial Services (FLDFS) says that biometric technology can help then perform background checks of its insurance agents. FLDFS and L-1 Identity Solutions recently built an Automated Fingerprint-Based Applicant Processing System. He adds that fingerprinting helps the state prevent potential frauds.
