ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the financial performance of educational services companies Kaplan Inc. and Educate Inc. in the U.S. in 2006. Kaplan increases its revenue to $1.68 billion which is a 19.2% gain from 2005. The firm's Supplemental division assign for test preparation and professional training, as well as, Kaplan's Score! centers raise up its revenue to 16.6% on the said year amounting to $805.2 million. In contrast, the company's operating income decline to 17.5%. On the other hand, Educate Inc. generates a 7.4% revenue increase but then yields a lower operating profit and a net loss of $11.9 million. Significant information regarding the financial statements of both companies is presented.
