ABSTRACT
The article reports on a chef's competition created by the British Potato Council. The aim of the contest is to promote recipe innovation, educate chefs and increase consumption. The Great Potato Challenge is an ideal opportunity to educate chefs. The first category, open to established chefs, sought recipes of particular appeal to vegetarians. The second category sought to promote the potato as a vegetable worthy of a starter-dish or light bite.
