The article reports on the increased demand for U.S. soybeans for its use in the development of new products. The demand is a result of the efforts of the United Soybean Board and soybean checkoff's partnership with manufacturers to introduce new markets making use of soybeans. Among the products that were developed include soy-based plastics used in tractors, transformer fluids made from soybean oil, and a soy-based resin system used for a variety of application.
