ABSTRACT
The article reports that general merchandise items in convenience stores (c-store) sell best when they are targeted to particular markets or demographic groups. Ethnic and pop culture novelty items with multi-cultural appeal provide substantial sales opportunities for c-store owners and operators across the country. While many items have cross-cultural appeal, other products with target populations are better suited for niche markets.
