Karnataka mulls petchem agenda

The article reports that the Karnataka State Industrial Investment and Development Corp. (KSIIDC) in India is considering the creation of an oil and petrochemical zone along the coast of the state to benefit from the growth of the energy industry of the country. According to Yogish Bhat, chairman of KSIIDC, the government was prepared to offer substantial sums to set up the zone subject to location. Shipping and transportation would also be developed to provide adequate logistics.
