ABSTRACT
The article reports on the sale of the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymers assets and related polyester resins business of Eastman Chemical to La Seda de Barcelona for around €50m ($66m). The company closed its PET plant at San Roque, Cadiz in Spain, on January 17, 2007 following the breakdown of labour talks on the restructuring of its European asset base.
