ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs in the chemical industry in Europe. French private equity group Axa said that it has reduced its stake in Germany's Merck KGaA to 3.3%. Poland's Zaklady Chemiczne Police's fourth quarter operating loss leapt to zloty 274.09m ($92.37m, €70.25m). Croda posted a 7.3% year-on-year rise in pre-tax profit for 2006, and said that it expects to meet its targets for 2007.
