BASF celebrates massive sales boost during 2006

The article reports on the sales of €52.6bn, or $68.9bn, posted by BASF for 2006, up by 23% on the previous year. Driven by three significant acquisitions in 2006, the construction-chemicals business of Degussa, catalyst maker Engelhard and Johnson Polymer, Germany's BASF showed that the majority of its businesses were performing well. BASF reported that earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization were up by 18.1% year-on-year to €9.72bn.
