ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the restructuring program of Eastman Chemical. Brian Ferguson, chief executive officer (CEO) of the U.S.-based producer, has been spearheading the company's shift to a more technology and market focused organization. Ferguson's strategy is for Eastman to gain a low-cost and secure feedstock position through its technologies, and to offer unique, value-added propositions to its customers. He reshuffled Eastman's operations into two main business groups, chemicals and fibres, and polymers.
