Leveraging the Cassandra Factor in Retirement Planning

Savage, Diane C.

The article discusses retirement planning by financial advisors. The author compares the plight of financial planners whose clients don't heed their advice to the Greek myth of Cassandra, who was blessed with the gift of prophecy but cursed so that her prophecies were never believed. Retirement planners often have the experience to know the best course of action for their clients, but are often hindered when their clients refuse to change their own preconceived notions of their retirement finances.
