SIP: A Mid-Course Assessment

The article discusses the results of the 2007 Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) survey, which was conducted by MierConsulting and Miercom in association with "Business Communications Review." The survey presents ratings from information technology professionals concerning the state of current SIP specifications, including basic telephony features like hold and transferring, voice mail, caller authentication, presence monitoring and propagation/distribution, audio conferencing, and point-to-point videoconferencing.
