ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the restoration of the house of Edward Chambré Hardman, the pre-eminent professional portrait photographer, which provides a glimpse into his work and lifestyle. Hardman arrived in Liverpool, England, in 1922, setup a photography portrait business and earned a reputation by portraying aristocrats and celebrities. In 2002, his house containing all his possessions, photography equipment, and photographs was opened for the public by a trust named after him.
