ABSTRACT
The article reports on the departure of Endemol chief operating officer Tom Barnicoat from the Dutch production giant as Spanish-based parent Telefonica prepares the television producer for sale. The resignation has triggered speculation that Barnicoat will lead a management buyout backed by private equity funding. He is a member of Endemol's management board and will leave with a severance and pension package totaling around $5.3 million.
