ABSTRACT
The article offers information on a tropical rainforest's layers. The emergent layer, the rainforest's top layer, is made up of the tops of the very tallest trees and is home to many birds and insects. The canopy, which is made up of the tops of most other rain forest trees, is home to many animals like sloths who hang upside down from tree branches. A dark, cool layer under the leaves of many trees is called the understory.
