ABSTRACT
The article focuses on investment decisions made by the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) at its board meeting. The board terminated manager Payden & Rygel from a $666 million fixed-income core-plus mandate. Other firms that were placed on the TRS watch-list at the event include Weiss, Peck & Greer, for its $872 million fixed-income account for organizational reasons, and Voyageur Asset Management, for a $799 million large-capitalization growth domestic equity account due to poor performance.
