The article discusses a survey by Wainhouse Research concerning buyer opinions of unified communication systems, which is a network that includes elements of presence, instant messaging, voice and voice conferencing, Web and data collaboration, mobility, unified messaging, and videoconferencing, as well as an easy to use user interface. A chart of buyer opinions of the importance of each of these elements of a unified communication system is presented, along with an examination of the system's potential.
