ABSTRACT
The article discusses the common myth among many business organizations that voice over Internet telephony is just another application on the network. The author stresses the importance of remembering that voice is made up of analog data that makes it different from most other network traffic, as well as the fact that the telephony systems are probably the most complicated hardware/software applications on a given network. The critical elements of IP-telephony are examined along with techniques to install it smoothly.
