ABSTRACT
The article reports on the partnership of Azko Nobel with AFC Energy to make electricity from the hydrogen generated in chlor-alkali production. The pair will test the hydrogen fuel cell technology of AFC at Azko Nobel's chlor-alkali facility in Bitterfeld, Germany. The two companies will evaluate the ability of the technology to generate clean energy, and the economic feasibility of converting hydrogen from the electrolysis process to electricity and useful heat.
