ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Pioneer to expand its chlor-alkali plant in Saint Gabriel, Louisiana. The project, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2008, includes converting the plant to membrane cell technology. According to Pioneer, the investment would enable it to expand the capacity of the plant by an additional 97,000 electrochemical units a year, at a cost of $25m.
