According to Jim Miller, outsourcing has the potential to mitigate risk by reducing financial exposure, cutting time to market, accessing specialized experience, offering leverage over performance improvement and providing a second source of product. He observes that one of the reasons we see pharmaceutical companies trying to consolidate their vendor base is to invest in better communication capability.
