One fine day

Chang, Joseph; Baker, John

ICIS Chemical Business;2/12/2007, Vol. 2 Issue 53, p20
Trade Publication
The article focuses on private equity acquisitions of chemical assets. Private equity acquisitions of fine chemical assets include Gilde Buy-Out Partners and Banexi Capital buying Groupe Novasep and Towerbrook Capital Partners acquiring Clariant's fine chemicals unit. The absence of strategic buyers has cleared the way for private equity to consider the buying opportunity. The author claims that while private equity is venturing into the improving fine chemicals business, the long-term fundamentals may not be too favorable.
