ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of the Thai government to lower the price of ethanol by 24 percent in an effort to boost the consumption of gasohol, a blend of ethanol and gasoline. Ethanol producers and oil companies have agreed on the pricing formula due to fears of oversupply, as new capacities come online later in 2007. Under the pricing structure, gasohol 95 will be Bt1.75/liter cheaper than octane 95.
