ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline in the 2006 fourth-quarter operating profit of Kemira. Titanium dioxide production losses were partly responsible for the profit drop, after a power failure at the company's Pori plant in Finland. The water chemicals division reported a 49 percent increase in operating profit while revenue in the coatings sector rose by 21 percent after Kemira acquired a Russian paint company.
