ABSTRACT
The article reports on mergers and acquisitions in the health care industry in the U.S. Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa has acquired Oakland Memorial Hospital. Mount Carmel Health System merge with New Albany Surgical Hospital with the goal of creating an orthopedic and neurological center of excellence. LifePoint Hospitals Inc. completed its previously announced sale of Saint Francis Hospital to Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association.
