The article announces that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. became the latest customer to take advantage of the benefits of the new collaboration on interoperability between Microsoft Windows and Novell Incorporated's Linux. The terms of the agreement are cited. Comments from Nancy Stewart of Wal-Mart are included. Statement from Ron Hovsepian of Novell is presented. According to Steve Ballmer of Microsoft, customers tell them that they need interoperability and that they want their technology vendors to manage the underlying intellectual property issues in software.
