ABSTRACT
The article offers strategies for teachers working with middle school students. The author recommends focusing on four areas: the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social (PIES) development of these students. Strategies and suggested activities are presented. The author argues that when educators confront these developmental areas, the learning environment is more successful.
