ABSTRACT
The article reports that Tyco Healthcare Group LP will change its name to Covidien to reflect its separation from parent company Tyco International Ltd. in the U.S. The new company will become an independent entity and will be publicly traded. The separation of the manufacturer from the parent company will be completed in Spring of 2007. Tyco Healthcare produces and distributes disposable medical supplies, monitoring equipment, medical instruments and bulk analgesic pharmaceuticals. It has an annual sales of nearly $10 billion.
