Background: Computer is effectively utilized in the field of education. It has become an indispensable tool in the medium of education. It has now taken the place of the blackboard and other course tools. In the future, the students will do necessary work for learning at home without going to school. Some of the researches made abroad and in Turkey point to the fact that computers are effective and facilitative in learning. Research Question and Hypothesis: Are there meaningful differences between the educational software group and the group that use the traditional education method in terms of comprehension, language studies, the elements of a sentence and total achievement averages? 1. The Meteksan's software proposed for the Turkish lesson pertaining to the comprehension achievement average, with respect to the conventional group in relation to the comprehension average, there is a positive meaningful difference for the first group. 2. The Meteksan's software proposed for the Turkish lesson pertaining to the language achievement average, with respect to the other group, there is a positive meaningful difference for the first group. 3. The Meteksan's software proposed for the Turkish lesson pertaining to the elements of sentence achievement, with respect to the conventional group, there is a higher, positive meaningful difference for the first group. 4. The Meteksan's software proposed for the Turkish lesson pertaining to the total achievement average, with respect to the conventional group, there is a higher, positive meaningful difference for the other group. Method: Both qualitative and quantitative approaches are used collectively in this research. In addition, the pretest-posttest control group design is used. The groups were formed by random assignment. The experimental group has used the software arranged by the Meteksan Turkish lesson. On the other hand, the conventional group has followed the lesson conventionally. Results: Significant differences were found for comprehension achievement, language achievement, sentence achievement, and total achievement in favor of the computer based education group. Discussions and Suggestions: The teaching and learning environment will be more effective if the educational software supported by the educational games, different examples, and knowledge and skills are presented by various voice tones and colors. 1. The propositions made by the students can be taken into consideration to design educational software. 2. In the educational software at the evaluation stage, when the student has chosen the wrong alternative, not with the next question, but if the student is channeled to the section which is connected with the question, the learning will be much more easier. 3. In the software, the contents must be prepared by pictures, shapes, cartoon heroes, follow diagrams, and their relation to the daily life, thus learning will be facilitated. 4. New comparative studies can be made in relation to different lessons, class and school levels through effective computer assisted education. 5. Experimental researches should be conducted on larger groups.
