ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the proposals of four experts including Jos Goldemberg, Amory B. Lovins, Stephen Schneider, and M. S. Swaminathan for the environmental protection. These scientists proposed methods for controlling carbon dioxide emissions, reducing global temperatures, sustaining economic growth, and establishing the necessary political leadership. Goldemberg believed that climatic change could be solved through elimination of fossil fuel consumption because it is responsible for greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, Lovins stated that protection of climate could be done by lessening carbon emissions and advancing biofuels to replace the mentioned fuel.

The ability to directly remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere allows the decoupling of emissions and emissions control in space and time. We ask the question whether this unique feature of carbon dioxide removal technologies fundamentally alters the dynamics of climate mitigation pathways....
