The article features International Grocery Association's (IGA) new U.S. leader, Mark Batenic. He has the mission of ensuring the health and future growth of the global alliance. While attending the University of Kansas in Lawrence, he found work as a clerk at Rusty's IGA in Lawrence. Like most new hires, Batenic started at the front end, bagging groceries and assisting customers.
