ABSTRACT
The article reports that the town council of Stratford, Connecticut will oppose on the proposed construction of an apartment complex in the municipality. The town council intervention came after the Connecticut Supreme Court moved to allow Stratford to block the settlement agreement between the apartment developer and two city agencies. Earlier, AvalonBay Communities had sought the approval of Stratford's zoning commission to build an apartment complex. AvalonBay, however, appealed before the Court but the appellate court also refused to grant its appeal. Instead, it gave the town council an authority to block such proposal. The town council insisted that such proposal has a negative impact on the environment.
