ABSTRACT
The article reports on the revenue and profitability of Renaissance Learning Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Renaissance Learning management described 2006 as a transitional year of organizational and product changes. It also was a year of continued revenue decline in the company's core business and decreasing profitability. According to the company, revenue during the year was $111.5 million, or an equivalent to 4.1 percent decrease from 2005 revenue of $116.3 million. Excluding revenue from the AlphaSmart laptop product line, which was acquired in late June 2005, the company's revenue declined 12 percent from the prior year.
