ABSTRACT
The article presents an update regarding some developments in the U.S. Department of Education. The U.S. Correctional Education has returned to the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) at the U.S. Department of education from its previous at the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools. The OVAE are engaged with the implementation activities for a new Perkins Vocational Education Act. The reauthorization of the Adult Education and Family Literacy act is also being scheduled. The department is focusing on issues of higher education and will be sponsoring correctional education's technical assistance projects that will be undertaken over the coming months.
