ABSTRACT
The article reports that Nokia Corp. expanded its leading position in the mobile handset market in 2006 according to market research firm iSuppli Corp. Sony Ericsson reached over 15 percent growth in the last three quarters of 2006. Nokia achieved 348 million unit shipments in 2006 compared to the combined 335.3 million units for Motorola Inc. and Samsung. Europe accounted for nearly 32 percent of Nokia's shipments during the fourth quarter.
