ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA), homegrown Third-Generation Cell-Phone Technology standard of China, has been given another big push from the Ministry of Information Industry. According to some sources, there are new trials scheduled to start in March 2007 and will take the total number of cities where TD-SCDMA is being used to ten. The latest TD-SCDMA project will last until October 2007.
