ABSTRACT
The section presents news items featured in the February 2, 1987 and February 3, 1997 issues of the journal. In the February 2, 1987 issue, Bayer was reported planning to spend deutschmarks (DM) 260 million on projects at its site in Belgium. Also in the same issue, impact of research expenditure on profits of biotechnology companies was reported. In the February 3, 1997 issue, the Indian antidumping authority was reported investigating into the alleged purified terephthalic acid (PTA) dumping from Thailand and Indonesia.
